Happy Retirement Carol

A Message from Linda Wrigley, Chair of Mencap In Kirklees Board on the occasion of the retirement of CEO Carol Haigh :

“It is difficult to believe that all our lives have been so dramatically changed for twelve months.

Last March I would not have thought that we could possibly live our lives in such a restricted way, over such a long period of time. But we have had to, and again, I would like to thank everyone for enabling our services (where possible) to continue caring and supporting our people. Where this has not been possible support has been given in other ways such as chats over the phone, shopping, activity packs etc.

Of course, the thanks are to all of you – you don’t have to work ‘Hands On’ to be needed – it takes the entire Staff Team, at every level, for the organisation to succeed.

Carol has been our CEO for over six years, I would like to thank her for her total commitment to MIK, the people we support, the staff and to myself and Board.

We wish her a very happy time in her camper and garden as she enjoys her retirement.

We welcome Catherine, and her vast experience of Learning Disability Services, to MIK and look forward to working with her as we all face the challenges ahead together.”
